What comes after the 5 Poetical books are the 17 Prophetical Books of the OT. From Isaiah to Malachi, these 17 books contain the prophecies of Israel’s prophets. On your handout, we define Biblical prophecy. Prophecy defined: Biblical prophecy is proclaiming the word of God, both for the future and in the present. 

This Sunday we are focusing on the Poetical Books of the Old Testament. We will start with some notes about the Poetical Books in general, and then we will take a closer look at a classic passage from the poetical book of Proverbs, Proverbs 3.
