The purpose of this study is for us to open our eyes to the ongoing activity of God occurring all around us. Though we may be oppressed, overwhelmed, and distracted, the Lord is with us. He is restraining evil, judging evildoers, and strengthening his people to confront false religions and connect others to Jesus.
The life of Elisha is a challenge for all of us to look more closely, and to see what the world does not see. We worship a God who will defeat all of his enemies and deliver all of his people. Elisha encourages us: Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with [our enemies]. He also prays for us: O LORD, please open [our] eyes that [we] may see. 2 Kings 6:16-17, (ESV)
