In Galatians 4 followers of Jesus are no longer slaves, they are free sons and heirs of God. We are no longer enslaved to elementary principles of the world. Instead we are free, like the children of the free woman Sarah, the free wife of Abraham. We are not children of slaves, but like it says in Galatians 5, Christ has set us free, never to be slaves again. Christ has called us into freedom, to live a different kind of life than the one we lived before. In Galatians 6, We are set free to live free so stay free. In Galatians 4-6, freedom is a big deal, so it should be a big deal to us. That got me asking the question in my own study, What does being free look like and not look like? What does my freedom in Christ involve and not involve?
