In the book of Galatians, the Apostle Paul isn’t playing a game; he’s warning the Galatians not to be fooled by a message of salvation, by a gospel, which is not a really a gospel. On your handout, Paul warns against embracing a distorted gospel, and he begins to define the true gospel. Let’s make our first pass together through Galatians 1-3. We will spend twelve weeks marinating in all 6 chapters of Galatians. We are marinating in it, soaking in it and soaking it in, so please don’t expect to understand it all at once. Our goal at this initial stage in our study is simply to get our bearings in this book, to become familiar with the contents of Paul’s letter and begin to identify important themes.
