Grace is God’s goodness to those who deserve only punishment. In the Bible it appears that there are two distinct kinds of grace: Common Grace and Saving Grace. God is gracious to all persons, including those persons he does not ultimately save, persons who will never turn from their sin and trust in Jesus, so their sins aren’t forgiven and they won’t live forever with God in heaven. This is Common Grace. Unlike Common Grace, Saving Grace is only experienced by those Jesus saves, but like Common Grace, no one deserves saving grace. It’s a gift from God.
