Can’t find what you’re looking for?

May 16

May 15, 2026

There have been more than one or two times that my son has said to me something like … “I know you (or Dad or …) have said this before, but today Elizabeth (or Abby or Nathan or …) said the same thing but in a different way, and I understood it.  It really hit home.”

My response?  Hallelujah!  Whichever messenger the Lord uses to bring wise counsel and truth into our lives, I say hallelujah!  There is no pride of authorship here.  His dad or I didn’t come up with something profound.  We heard it, gleaned it, or read it from God’s appointed messengers for our lives.  One of my wise advisors reminds, “There is nothing new under the sun!”  Nothing new, except my understanding which is growing!

The biblical Book of Hebrews tells us from the start that God has been speaking to His people for a long time through His prophets but has now ramped up His approach to getting His loving and righteous message across to us.  He sent His Son.  His Son who is Jesus, the heir of all things, through whom God created the world.

No one else could deliver the message God has for us, in a way that we might hear, understand, and receive it.

This is the second of our five weeks to memorize four verses, Hebrews 1.1-4.  This week:  verse two.

But in these last days he (God) has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. Hebrews 1.2

I pray you will find this an encouragement to consider and put to memory.  God’s Word is alive and active and is for our growing understanding of Who is the One we call Lord.  You will find it just gets better as we go along.  So far this is where we are:

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets.  But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. Hebrews 1.1-2

He has spoken to us! Through His Son!  Listen and respond!

Blessings, Colleen
