Where do you go when you are low? When your tank is empty. When your stores of energy and courage and steadiness have dipped, dipped too low to be measured – where do you go?
In conversation with two remarkable women this week we searched for a certain verse and found it in Psalm 34. As I was thinking over the impact of personal and national and international circumstances, I went back to read that one verse in Psalm 34 and found a plethora of reminders of the assurances and promises of the God who is mindful of each of our hesitations, concerns, and fears. I pray you will set your eyes and your heart to consider these verses today, and tomorrow.
There is a link below that will take you to the full chapter 34 if you’ll allow yourself time for 22 verses. May I suggest you don’t read to answer questions or to just do what Colleen suggested. Read slowly, deliberately, seeking the comfort and hope we may have in God’s sovereignty over all of our circumstances.
He hears our prayers. He delivers us. He is our good refuge. He is our peace. He is near and He saves when we are undone. He redeems.
I sought the Lord and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34.4
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Psalm 34.7
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Psalm 34.8
Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34.14
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34.18
The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. Psalm 34.22
Next time someone asks you, “Where do you go when life feels jumbled and uncertain and you are all wrung out?” Tell them Psalm 34.
With all thanksgiving to God for His protection and supplying, Colleen
