Nope, it’s not a mistype. Lovingkindness. All one word. One jam-packed-full-of-meaning/potential/promise word. Lovingkindness.
Depending on which Bible translation you have been reading from, you may have read a different word or phrase … steadfast love … faithfulness … faithful love … unfailing love.
The original word written in the Hebrew language (the original language of the Old Testament) is hesed meaning goodness, kindness, faithfulness, even mercy.
An extraordinary love from the extraordinary God who created and crowned us to be His ambassador to others … because He cares for us.
When the clouds roll in and the circumstances threaten our equalibrium, there is hope in God’s powerful and ever-present love. Unchanging love that sharpens our awareness of His powerful presence and our understanding deepens. Never failing love when our thoughts go to ruin. Amazingly tender and yet steadying and transforming.
Our response has to be one of humble submission as we trust assuredly that God’s extraordinary care will move us through to the other side and beyond, so that we might encourage another in their disappointment to trust Him while He works, changing our heart more than our circumstances.
Maybe that’s the key … we give God our circumstances and He gives us this new heart. A rescued and increasingly trusting heart. Because He cares for us. Worthy of all praise and gratitude. Worthy of sharing so another will know Him.
