Jesus Says to Be Ready and Waiting
Jesus tells three stories that ask and answer the question, “How are we to live knowing that Jesus will return from heaven to reward the faithful and punish the unfaithful?”
Story #1: The Parable of the Ready Servants, Verses 35-38
Those servants who are ready and waiting to welcome and receive their Master are blessed when the Master returns and serves them.
Story #2: The Parable of the Unexpected Thief, Verses 39-40
That Jesus will return at a time that is unexpected is another reason to live in a constant state of readiness.
Story #3: The Parable of the Wise and Faithful Manager,
Verses 41-48
That Jesus will return to reward the wise, faithful manager and punish the foolish, wicked manager should cause us to live in a constant state of readiness.
You have so Much! Much is required of you!
With great blessings come great responsibilities.
ð You will be tempted to ignore Jesus’ return, exercising self-indulgence and neglecting those in your care.
ð God’s will for you is to anticipate His Son’s return, exercising self-control and caring for those He has put in your way.
Jesus is coming. Be ready!
Pull up your pants. Put on the lights.
Be ready to welcome the Master home.
