The 4 Passages of Luke 11:24-36
1) The Empty House
1 spirit out – House cleaned up – 8 spirits in – More of a wreck than ever.
2) The Misguided Blessing
Jesus, your mom is blessed . . . No, hearers and heeders are blessed.
3) The Missed Sign
Sheba saw it – The Ninevites saw it – Israel saw it bigger and missed it.
4) The Defective Eye
A lamp is lit so people can see - But light is no good to a bad eye.
Each Passage Offers a Warning
Failure to respond to God always ends badly.
ð Ignoring His Work results in Spiritual Torment.
ð Ignoring His Word results in Lost Blessing.
ð Ignoring His Son results in Judgment.
ð Ignoring His Light results in Darkness.
You can’t shut God out and expect anything good to
come of it. How are you shutting God out?
Cleaning Up Is Not the Same as Being Cleansed
Regeneration brings about the results that self-
determination and self-improvement never will.
Results of Regeneration:
ü A steadfast belief that Jesus is the Christ. I John 5:1
ü A life free of continual sin. I John 3:9
ü An increasing desire to obey His commands. I John 2:29
ü A Christ-like love for others. I John 4:7
ü An ability to overcome the world. I John 5:3-4
ü Protection from Satan. I John 5:18
