Jesus is the Savior - Just Not the Kind of Savior You Would Expect Him to Be, Luke 9:18-50

After the Transfiguration in Luke 9.28-36, Jesus delivers a demon- possessed boy and demonstrates once again that He is the Son of God, the Chosen One to deliver God’s people. The failure of the disciples demonstrates their need to listen to Jesus and trust what He says, especially as Jesus tells them again about His death, which is coming, and coming soon.

What Happened to the Disciples? - A Warning for All of Us

From success to failure. – Why?

ð  In Luke 9:1-6, we are told that the 12 were having great

success in their ministry.  Now they are completely

    ineffective.

ð  They weren’t failing because they weren’t trying.

ð  They failed because they lacked faith.

ð  Somewhere along the way they slipped from a place of

listening to Jesus and trusting Him for the results of their

work, into a place of believing they were doing this all

on their own - and when that happens there is failure.

ð When this failure occurs we need to repent listen and

    trust again.
