Men of Honor Bible Study
Church Office
Men of Honor is a group of men from PCC that come together at the church office on Wednesday mornings for breakfast, study and prayer. We begin promptly at 6:30 AM and end almost always promptly at 7:30. Currently we are reviewing the Book of Luke, several weeks ahead of our study of that same book on Sunday mornings. There is a suggested $4 donation for breakfast. We encourage you to read the text for the coming Wednesday prior to our meeting and consider some initial questions about the text.

Read Luke: 16 19-31
1.Every person in the story does two things:
____________
____________ an eternal ___________.
Eternal resting place is determined by where we place our faith before death and we go there immediately.
2. True/False Salvation may be obtained after death.
Have you heard this taught? Have you cried out knowing that someone died unsaved, but their family tell you that they are in a better place? Have you stood by and let people distort the truth in order to feel better on their path towards the lake of fire? How does one lovingly correct this pervasive lie?
No hope to cross the chasm. There is no Salvation after death, no second chance, it simply doesn’t exist.
3. Notice who in this story has a name. May this be significant?
4. After his disappointment about his own fate the rich man fears for others headed his own way, what can he do about it? What can we do?
5. Who do you know that you would like to have see the miraculous love of God? What miracle would you have them see? How would that help them believe?
No one who fails to learn from Scripture (Law and Prophets in this quote) will be convinced by a sign sent from beyond the grave. Therefore we must learn, know and preach that which God has told us of Himself, the Bible.
In verse 31, May Jesus be foreshadowing those who will not be convinced by His return from the Grave?
