Youth Ministry Meeting
Sunday May 16, 2010
Youth ministry building blocks:
1) Vision, where we are going?
2) Mission, how we get there?
3) Priorities: Prayer, get a list of kids asking for those in the congregation for Jr. High and Sr. High
A) Teach the Word, what book? I’ll discuss with Nat on Wed. morning.
B) Pray for the right youth leaders and youth to come together,
C) Train leaders and develop a prayer group
D) Find out who the youth in the church are? I’ve talked with Pam and she will begin asking congregation May 23rd.
E) Bring parents together describing our purpose and plan to reach kids.
F) Create a name, t-shirt, and logo for the group.
G) A warning and a concern…watch out for cliques, address them, learning to intentionally serve.
H) Nat volunteered to be the youth leader but we need help with youth sponsorship. He needs to set up adult leader training, and youth leadership training.
Kick-off in the fall Sept 15th. Meet every Wed. night at 6:30-8 p.m. with Jr. High and Sr. high together for worship and divide up into two groups. We need a Jr. High leader. Then D-groups (discipleship groups) for boys and girls
Summer kick –off events prior to the start in September:
• July 4th shooting at Mostofi’s? details?
• July 24th or 31st . Sargents, Time: Minute to win it Pizza party, bonfire? Scavenger hunt?
• August 21st Doner’s house and Wild Cat Lake, canoe, kayak, fishing, picnic, bonfire. Time: 12-4 p.m. Barbeque
Additional Notes:
• Feel like 8-11 falling through the cracks???
• Ask Nat to be the youth leader?
• Do we have a C.V.I. movie license?
• We would like youth to be involved with worship, pushing ministry, team-building, a group t-shirt, scavenger hunt
• What follow-up needs to be done? Meet with Nat about training, and lining up leadership training and coordinating a schedule with off events.
• Ask about insurance and liability, airsoft?
