Recap of Children's Church Meeting on 4/21/10
Where are we going? Our Vision: preaching God's Word in Truth, calling people to obedience, caring for others
Each week teachers should: Pray for the children, let them know you care about them because they are made in the image of God, and read the Bible to them.
Challenge: What can we do with the children so they can show or apply the information about Christian living that we are teaching? Encourage parents to get involved with learning the monthly Bible verse and asking their children about what they learned. Ideas were shared.
New name for Children's Church? We will ask the kids to vote on the top two ideas which are: Youth for Truth and Kids of the Kingdom.
Teachers would like to have special guests share their information before the children leave and we need the pastor to let us know if the sermon is going to be longer than the 45 minutes that we plan for Children's Church lesson. The 3-6 year olds have a very short attention span.
